- Minor terminology updates to operations (Clause 8): Mostly editorial alignment, with limited impact on day-to-day operational requirements.
- Unchanged core performance evaluation (Clause 9): Monitoring, measurement, internal audit and management review requirements remain largely the same, with a greater emphasis on using data for continual improvement.
- Stronger leadership role in improvement (Clause 10): Leadership's role in driving continual improvement is made more explicit, going beyond corrective actions.
- New Annex A: For the first time, ISO 9001 includes a dedicated annex offering detailed guidance to help organizations interpret and apply the clauses correctly.
